Summit Votes June 2: See Who’s On The Ballot In The Primary Election

SUMMIT, NJ — The June 2 primary election is approaching, and Patch is helping voters get ready by breaking down who is on the ballot in Summit and what seats are up for grabs.

In Summit, local elections are overseen by the City Clerk’s Office, which presides over municipal election administration and provides information on polling places, voter registration, early voting, and vote-by-mail options for Union County residents.

Ahead of Election Day, here’s a look at the candidates running for City Council in Summit.


Summit City Council Races (1st & 2nd Ward)

Voters in both wards will be selecting candidates for City Council seats with three-year terms.

1st Ward – City Council (3-year term)

2nd Ward – City Council (3-year term)


What voters should know

Summit residents can find information on voter registration deadlines, vote-by-mail applications, early in-person voting locations, and polling places through Union County election resources, which are linked through the city’s official election information page.

Ballot drop boxes are also available in Union County, including one located at the Summit Community Center at 100 Morris Avenue, where ballots are collected on a daily basis by designated election personnel.

Unofficial results for the June 2 primary will begin posting at 8 p.m. on Election Night, including results from machines used in Summit. Mail-in and provisional ballots are counted separately and updated as they are processed.
