SUMMIT, NJ — Multiple roads in Summit are closed on Monday after downed trees and wires were reported across the city, according to the Summit Police Department.
Officials are asking residents to avoid unnecessary travel while crews continue working to clear roadways and make repairs.
Police said both hard closures and soft closures are in place.
A hard closure means the road is fully closed to traffic and cannot be driven through. A soft closure means the road is partially restricted or limited to local traffic, depending on conditions and access needs.
Officials also noted that several traffic lights are currently out in the city.
Crews are actively working across Summit to clear debris and restore normal travel conditions. Authorities said the situation remains subject to change as repairs continue.
