SUMMIT, NJ — Drivers in Summit should expect road closures and delays this week as PSE&G crews complete milling and paving work on portions of Baltusrol Road and Springfield Avenue.
Weather permitting, crews will begin milling work on Wednesday, July 15, on Baltusrol Road between Hughes Place and Pearl Street. The work is scheduled from noon to 4 p.m.
Additional milling work is scheduled for Thursday, July 16, at multiple repair locations along Springfield Avenue between Passaic Avenue and Tulip Street. That work is expected to take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Paving work is also scheduled for Thursday, with crews working on Baltusrol Road between Hughes Place and Pearl Street and at repair locations along Springfield Avenue. The paving schedule is expected to run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
City officials said portions of the roads will be closed while the work is completed. Detours will be in place, and police officers will be onsite to help direct traffic.
Drivers are advised to expect delays and use alternate routes when possible. Residents are also reminded to follow emergency “No Parking” signs posted in affected areas.
