Fall is one of the most beautiful times of the year at Reeves-Reed Arboretum in Summit, and this October there will be plenty of opportunities to enjoy the autumn trees and gardens, gather with friends and family, and celebrate the season—from an adults-only afternoon of country music and BBQ to a family-friendly fall festival, with a few four-legged visitors in between.

Kick Up Your Heels

Get your boots on for the Arboretum's newest fall event, Country Fest: Boots & BBQ! Taking place Saturday, October 3, from 3 to 7 pm, this adults-only afternoon will feature delicious BBQ, drinks, yard games, dancing, and live music by award-winning modern country band Country Comfort. Guests are encouraged to bring their appetites and settle in for an afternoon of good food, good music, and good times in the beautiful garden setting. As an Arboretum fundraiser this event will help support the nonprofit's ongoing work in horticulture, conservation, education, and community programming.

Boots & BBQ is made possible with support from Barth's Market and Peerless Beverage Co., whose sponsorship helps bring this inaugural event to the community.

Celebrate Fall with the Whole Family

A few weeks later, Reeves-Reed will welcome families to its annual Celebrate Fall Festival on Sunday, October 18, from 11 am to 3 pm. This family-friendly event offers something for visitors of all ages, including children's activities, pumpkins, a spooky trail, entertainment, food and market vendors, the current Féminin Pluriel art exhibit, and seasonal photo opportunities throughout the gardens. And, of course, there will be goats!

Celebrate Fall is made possible in part by the generous support of The Lees Group of Prominent Properties Sotheby's International Realty. Their sponsorship helps Reeves-Reed Arboretum bring this annual community tradition to life.

The Goats Are Coming!

The Arboretum's favorite four-legged landscapers from Green Goats Farm in Rhinebeck, NY will be onsite October 5 through October 18, including Celebrate Fall. The goats help clear wildflower growth, invasive vines, and weeds from the Arboretum's Daffodil Bowl, preparing the area for annual restoration.

The goats have become a favorite seasonal attraction, but their visit also demonstrates how Reeves-Reed incorporates sustainable practices into the care of its historic landscape.

Visitors can stop by to see the goats at work during regular garden hours, 7 am to 7 pm daily, and those who want to help support the project can sponsor a goat with a donation at reeves-reedarboretum.org. Donors making a gift of $25 or more will receive a Certificate of Good Goatsmanship!
