Toward Spiritual Maturity: Desire, Spirit, and Inner Conversation

The path to spiritual maturity involves increased awareness of the inner movement of desire and spirit in our psyches.

Using the map of Jungian psychology, we will follow the thread of deep longing in our images and dreams into dialogue with the shadowy corners of our psyche and the acting out of our bodies. Explore the difference between fantasy and imagination, forms of expression that enable us to work through personal obstacles and defenses toward creative freedom, and what desire in relationship to spirit asks of us.

Such ‘inner dialogue practice’ can lead to the discovery of an inner ‘dialog mate’ who is truly there and available. Ongoing dialogue with this figure can lead to an inner union in which we discover new aliveness and identity, and are led to deeper and more profound spiritual maturation.
