On Wednesday, October 29, the Board of Trustees of Kent Place School honored its Annual Fund Leadership Council with a dinner at Baltustrol Golf Club in Springfield, NJ. President of the Kent Place Board of Trustees James H. McGraw IV welcomed the gathering and introduced Head of School Susan C. Bosland to a crowd of approximately 130 guests.
“I would like to thank you for your generosity, leadership and commitment —you are making an enormous difference at Kent Place School,” stated Bosland. “This is the moment for our ‘brave and brilliant girls’ at KPS. Students at Kent Place School learn to seize the moment, practice resilience, take responsible risks, actively participate and lead with passion, grit and impact. Thank you for all you do for Kent Place School!”
After presenting the State of the School, Bosland introduced keynote speaker and Kent Place alumna Alice Jane (A.J.) Poor Murphy ‘94 of Westchester County, NY.

A.J. is global head of Leveraged Finance Origination at Goldman Sachs, where she joined as a partner in 2014. She serves on the Firmwide Capital Committee. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, A.J. worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch for five years, most recently as managing director and co-head of Global Leveraged Finance. Previously, she was head of Leveraged Loan and High Yield Capital Markets. Earlier in her career, A.J. spent two years at J.P. Morgan as a managing director and 10 years at Deutsche Bank working in high yield capital markets.
A.J. serves on the New York advisory board of the Posse Foundation and earned a BA with a joint major in English and political science from Middlebury College.

“The self confidence we all gained from KPS in the classroom, on the fields — It shaped us. It was empowering,” stated Poor Murphy. “We are teaching these girls, as I was taught at KPS, that you deserve a seat at the table: you deserve it, you work to earn it and then you do something with it. Be your best self.”
The evening ended with closing remarks by James H. McGraw IV, President of the Kent Place Board of Trustees.
