The Liberty Science Center's New Interactive Titanic Exhibit that will entertain the entire family.

The eight things you need to know.

Elizabeth Romanaux, the Manager of Advertising and Promotions tells the Patch about the different artifacts in the new exhibit and some of the other family friendly attractions at the Liberty Science Center.

1. Patch: Where did the artifacts come from?

Elizabeth: Every object on display was recovered from 2-1/2 miles beneath the Atlantic Ocean - an enormous technological challenge. Salvaging the artifacts helps preserve them from disintegration.

3. Patch: Are there any interactive features?

Elizabeth: Yes. There are a number of interactive experiences including a 7+-foot tall “iceberg.” Guests can touch it to understand how frigid the water was that night - about 28 degrees. Families will also be fascinated to peer into re-created passenger cabins. In First Class they enjoyed the very latest luxuries including telephones. In the more spartan Third Class, passengers slept 6 to a room.

4. Patch: How long is the exhibit running and when does it open?

Elizabeth: It opens on October 31 and runs through May 30. Check LSC.or before your visit as we are closed some Mondays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.

5. Patch: How long should it see the entire exhibit?

Elizabeth: Visitors should plan to explore “Titanic: The Artifact Exhibit” for about 45 minutes and leave another 2-3 hours to see all the other great new things to do at LSC. Don’t miss the Infinity Climber and the ever-popular Touch Tunnel.

6. Patch: What is new for Patch.com readers with young children?
