LCJ's production of "The Hobbit" was this year's winner.

More than 50 middle and high schools from throughout New Jersey participate and the middle school's productions have consistently been nominated  and won in this category each year. For the past three years we have won the award for  "The Yellow Boat," "Comedy Tonight,"  "Exhibit This." This year's win for "The Hobbit" makes a fourth consecutive win.

This year, Summit competed against Park Ridge Middle School's production of "The Scarlett Heart"  and Roosevelt Middle School's production of "Get Smart."
The awards ceremony, held this past Friday evening was a star-studded event, with presenters from Broadway shows, award winning playwrights and professional directors. Mr. Wells, the LCJSMS theater Arts teacher and director was chosen to be one of four theater arts educators in New Jersey to act as Master of Ceremonies.
