Next Meeting To Discuss Summit School's Future Goals On Thursday

The second Focus Areas Discussion Meeting​ will be held on Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Summit High School library.

SUMMIT, NJ — The second Focus Areas Discussion Meeting will be held on Thursday. It will help define the direction of the Summit Public Schools for the next three-year period.

The meeting will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Summit High School library. All Summit parents, staff, and residents are welcome to attend.

The Board of Education held its first Focus Areas Discussion Meeting on Nov. 15, led by Chris Bonner, communications chair. Nearly 50 people were in attendance. The two meetings follow a community-wide survey that was administered in October.

The Board of Education develops Focus Areas every three years to help guide the Board and Administrators as goals are set for the Summit Public Schools. These Focus Areas are developed along with input from key stakeholders including parents, members of the community, and district staff.

The next Focus Areas will go into effect from September 2018 through June 2021.
