Summit Baseball Player Signs With Duke University
"Jack Carey is one of the top right-handed pitching prospects in the country," said Chris Pollard, Duke's head coach.

SUMMIT, NJ — Summit local and St. Peter's Prep student Jack Carey signed a National Letter of Intent with Dukes University for baseball.
“Jack Carey is one of the top right-handed pitching prospects in the country,” said Chris Pollard, Duke's head coach. “With a fastball up to 94 mph, he’s a true power arm. Jack’s physical tools – his ability to throw strikes coupled with a plus fastball – give him the opportunity to come into our program and contribute early.”
A 2017 Underclass Second Team selection, Carey ranks among the top prospects nationally. Perfect Game lists Carey as its No. 199 overall prospect in the class of 2018 as well as the No. 71 right-handed pitcher. In the state of New Jersey, he rates as the No. 5 overall prospect and No. 2 RHP in the class.
