SUMMIT, NJ — Summit local, Schania Anderson, who is a Junior at Seton Hall University, was one of only 19 to receive a scholarship from the New York Women in Communications.

"I feel extremely honored and grateful to have been awarded this generous scholarship. This award has sparked confidence, motivation, and encouraged me to further seek a career in the communications industry," Anderson told Patch. "I primarily applied because of monetary reasons, but after I have been notified that I was selected as a winner, I knew that there was so much more that I could gain from the organization. Though I only won a month ago, I have gained so much guidance, support, and valuable knowledge from so many diverse women in different stages of their careers."
