• Long-time Lenape Board of ed. member retires after 35 years of service (thedailyjournal.com) — A longtime Lenape Regional High School District board member representing Tabernacle has stepped down after nearly 35 years of service, opening a key seat for the township on the regional board. Dr. Robert H. "Skip" Bende Jr., a Lenape graduate and equine veterinarian who still lives in Tabernacle, was widely praised for his low-key but influential leadership in labor negotiations and major school expansions.
