TEANECK, NJ — Teaneck residents looking to clear out old personal documents can bring them to the township's confidential paper shredding event this weekend.
The event runs Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Municipal Building Parking Lot at 818 Teaneck Road, according to an alert from the Teaneck Police Department. It will be held rain or shine and may end early if the truck fills up.
The dates and hours are also listed on Teaneck's official 2026 Recycling Calendar.
Residents should bring paper in a cardboard box or paper bag. "All personal documents will be shredded on site," the township's alert said. Participants are limited to three banker boxes or three 13-gallon bags.
Cell phones, musical greeting cards, lithium batteries, medical waste or sharps, plastic binders, Tyvek envelopes, metal objects and wet, moldy or contaminated paper will not be accepted.
The township is asking residents to check their documents and boxes before arriving "for everyone's safety."
