TEANECK, NJ — Police responding to reports of a car crash in Teaneck on Friday night instead came upon someone with a bullet wound, officials said.
Around 9:15 p.m. Friday, Teaneck police responded to several reports of a crash on Route 4 West, said Jeff Angermeyer, chief of detectives for the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
Police found three people at the scene, one of whom had a gunshot wound to their left hand, Angermeyer said.
The person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, he said, and is in stable condition.
The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Robbery-Homicide Division and the Teaneck Police Department are now investigating the "unusual incident," Angermeyer said.
No more details are available, Angermeyer said.
