TEANECK, NJ — Jazz fans have a chance to catch saxophonist Julius Tolentino live in Teaneck this weekend as the acclaimed musician brings his quartet to Brvsh Cul7ur3 for an evening of live jazz, with three performances scheduled and tickets still available.
The Julius Tolentino Quartet will perform Saturday, Oct. 10, at Brvsh Cul7ur3, 482 Cedar Lane, with three sets beginning at 8 p.m., 9:16 p.m. and 10 p.m.
A protégé of legendary alto saxophonist Jackie McLean, Tolentino has performed and recorded alongside notable musicians, including Louis Hayes, Jeremy Pelt, Natalie Cole, Dianne Reeves and the Christian McBride Big Band. He has also worked with the Count Basie and Duke Ellington orchestras.
Throughout his career, Tolentino has performed at renowned venues and festivals, including the Village Vanguard, Blue Note, Lincoln Center and Newport Jazz Festival.
Tickets range from $17.88 for student bar seating to $62.88 for front VIP seating, including fees and taxes.
The venue describes the performance as an evening of "swing, musical conversation" and jazz.
