TEANECK, NJ — Three men were arrested this week for robbing someone during an attempted sale of an item in Teaneck, prosecutors said.
Zamair Johnson, 23, Zaier Jones, 24, and Jaden Nickels, 25, of Paterson, were arrested Tuesday in connection with the armed robbery on Aug. 23, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office announced.
On Aug. 24, prosecutors said, the Teaneck Police Department received a report of an armed robbery that had occurred the previous night.
A months-long investigation determined that shortly after 11 p.m., a victim met with an acquaintance to purchase THC cartridges in Teaneck.
The acquaintance arrived with two other people in a dark-colored vehicle.
When the victim entered the vehicle, all three suspects pointed guns at him, took money, and threatened him while demanding that he digitally transfer additional funds using a mobile banking app, prosecutors say.
Then, they took the victim's cell phone.
The three men were charged with first-degree robbery, weapons charges, terroristic threats, and fourth-degree aggravated assault by pointing a firearm.
On Tuesday, with the assistance of the Bergen County Regional SWAT Team, detectives searched the men's residences and a hotel in Wayne where Johnson and Nickels were staying.
All three were found and arrested, prosecutors said.
They were taken to the Bergen County Jail to await a first appearance in court.
