1 Person Killed In Watercraft Crash Near Route 37 Bridge: Reports

Thw crash happened near the J. Stanley Tunney Bridge that carries Route 37 from Seaside Heights back to the manland, reports said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — One person was killed Saturday when a pair of personal watercraft crashed near the J. Stanley Tunney Bridge, according to reports.

The crash happened about 3:30 p.m., state police told the Asbury Park Press.

The driver of one watercraft died at the scene, Jersey Shore Online reported. The publication identified the person as a man, but did not give further details.

NJ.com reported the other driver was uninjured.

The Ocean County Sheriff's Office sent out a Nixle alert Saturday warning motorists to be prepared for traffic on westbound Route 37 while authorities were on the scene trying to rescue people.
