10th SantaCon In Seaside Heights Helping Veterans, Families

The Santa convention will fill the boardwalk with Jolly ol' elves having fun for a good cause.

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ — Santa Clauses are coming to Seaside Heights on Saturday — yes, Santas plural — for the 10th annual Chive Charities SantaCon Fundraiser.

"SantaCon is a non-denominational, non-commercial, non-political, and non-sensical Santa Claus convention that occurs once a year," the organizers said. "It's your chance to spread holiday cheer in the most magical and absurd way possible."

The event this year is supporting veterans organizations. It begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at Hooks Bar and Grill, and makes stops at Beachcomber Bar & Grill, EJ's Tap House, Riggers, The Ocean Club Restaurant, The Sawmill and Hemingway's while also raising money and collecting toys and nonperishable food for veteran families in need.

Toys go directly to the MA22 annual toy drive helping local veteran families, and food will be distributed locally to Vetwork all via the Under My Skin for Life Foundation Inc.

"Important: You must start your SantaCon experience at Hooks, doors open at 10 a.m.," organizers said. Toy and food donations get dropped off, and participants pick up raffle tickets and the poker run slip, along with mug and commemorative patch if you registered in time to reserve them.
