2019 Beach Badges On Sale April 1 In Toms River

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Beach badges for Ortley Beach and Shelter Cove in Toms River will go on sale April 1, township officials have announced.

Full-season beach badges are $35 at the preseason rate, which is available from April 1 to May 27. They increase to $50 after May 27. Senior beach IDs can be obtained for a one-time fee of $15 and are good for lifetime (you must show proof of age).

Badges can be purchased at the Recreation Administration Office, 1810 Warren Point Road, or the Toms River Senior Center located at 652 Garfield Avenue, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pool badges will be available only at the recreation office at 1810 Warren Point Road.

The beaches open on weekends only beginning Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 25, and will open daily beginning Saturday, June 22.

Beach hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends and holidays.

The Toms River township pool will open weekends beginning June 15 and 16, and will open daily beginning Saturday, June 22. Pool hours will be 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends and holidays.

Beach badges are free for children ages 12 and younger.

In addition to the season badges, weekly badges, for $25 each, are available. They cover a week that runs Saturday through Friday.

Daily beach badges are $7 during the week, $8 on weekends and holidays.

Pool badge prices are as follows:

Season pool badges are $150 per person for adults; $75 for resident seniors ages 62 and older, and for children ages 4 to 12. Children ages 3 and younger are free.

Season pool badges for nonresidents are $300 for adults, $150 for seniors and children.

Daily pool badges are $7 for adults Monday through Friday, $5 for seniors and children. Daily pool badges are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and children on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Swimming lessons are available for $50 per session. Register for lessons through Community Pass at http://register.communitypass.net/tomsriver.
