3 Who Threw Heroin From Speeding Jeep Arrested: Toms River Police
When a Toms River police officer tried to pull over the Jeep Cherokee as it sped down Route 35, 3 men began throwing the heroin bricks away.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Three Middlesex County men who threw bricks of heroin out of their vehicle during a chase along Route 35 are facing drug distribution and other charges after they were arrested Sunday, Toms River police said Friday.
Allen Pittman, 28, of South Plainfield; Ambiorix Ramierez, 19, of New Brunswick, and Nasiyr Peters, 21, of Jamesburg, were arrested, said Jillian Messina, media relations specialist for the Toms River Police Department.
The chase started when Toms River Officer Phil Bianco saw a 2019 Jeep Cherokee traveling at a high rate of speed south on Route 35 about 6 p.m. and tried to pull the vehicle over. Ramierez, who was driving the Jeep Cherokee, refused to stop and sped off, running red lights along Route 35 as the three threw the bricks of heroin out the windows, Messina said. Ramierez backed into driveway and the three took off running from there.

Several Toms River police officers, assisted by Lavallette and Seaside Heights police and Ocean County sheriff's officers, were able to arrest the three men, she said.
Officers collected 16 bundles of suspected heroin, a cellophane bag containing suspected Oxycontin, and an undisclosed amount of cash. An Ocean County Sheriff's Department K-9 officer responded to check the area for additional drugs, she said.

Ramierez was charged with eluding, obstruction, and possession of CDS with intent to distribute, and also received motor vehicle summonses for driving without a license, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to maintain lane, failure to signal lane change, failure to observe red traffic signal, and improper passing on the right.
Pittman and Peters both were charged with obstruction and possession Of CDS with intent to distribute, Messina said. The incident remains under investigation, additional charges are pending.
Toms River police thanked all of the assisting agencies, "as well as the many vigilant witnesses on scene," Messina said.
