Downtown Night Out Canceled In Toms River Due To Extreme Heat

Restaurants and stores will still be open for meals, treats and more.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Downtown Toms River officials have canceled Friday's Downtown Night Out event due to the extreme heat.

"Due to the excessive heat, we are experiencing and will continue to experience throughout the holiday weekend we are cancelling our 250th Celebration during Downtown Night Out," officials said. "This is not a decision that we make lightly, and we hope to see you next week for Date Night on July 10th."

There is no Downtown Night Out scheduled for Saturday due to the July 4th holiday.

Downtown Toms River businesses and restaurants will be open and offering cool temperatures, food and drink, treats and more, and officials urge people to call their favorite restaurants for reservations.

Downtown Toms River restaurants include Pho34 vietnamese cuisine; Oi Sushi; Capones Gourmet Pizza and Pasta House; A Thyme for All Seasons; Zaza Grill and Kebab; Ellie's Indian Curry Corner; Water Street Bar & Grille; and the Office Lounge Toms River, and there are locally made microbrews at Battle River Brewing.

Spire Coffeehouse will have iced drinks by the bucket and Muller's Creamery is ready with ice cream to keep you cool.
