Concerts and Art Programs Coming to the Jackson Library to Celebrate its 25th Anniversary

The Jackson Friends of the Library are sponsoring a series of concerts and art programs at the Jackson Branch of the Ocean County Library to celebrate the branch's 25th anniversary. The 15 programs begin in September and end in October.

·Friday, October 9 @ 11 a.m. – The 1950s Experience – oldies, doo wop, rock & roll

·Wednesday, October 21 @ 6:30 p.m. – Fish & Whistle – high-energy bluegrass and acoustic rock

·Tuesday, November 3 @ 6:30 p.m. – Elvistory: The King of Vegas – Elvis tribute

·Tuesday, November 10 @ 11 a.m. – Jay Daniels: Jersey Boys & Jersey Girls – Jersey-themed classics

·Saturday, November 21 @ 11 a.m. – NGXB – classical crossover piano concert

·Saturday, December 5 @ 11 a.m. – Sounds of the Season with Florian Schantz Jazz Combo – holiday-themed jazz concert

The 25th Anniversary Art Series is as follows:

·Friday, September 18 @ 11 a.m. – Coffee Painting by Culture Chauraha – create brew-tiful sepia watercolor with real coffee

·Saturday, October 3 @ 11 a.m. – Holiday Baubles by Culture Chauraha – make an ornament for the holidays

·Saturday, October 17 @ 2 p.m. – Bookin' It: Bookbinding with Meg Wastie – make three miniature books to take home

·Wednesday, October 28 @ 10 a.m. & 11 a.m. – Flower Arranging by Whiting Flower Shoppe – discover the basics of floral arrangements

·Thursday, November 12 @ 6:30 p.m. –Altered Book Upcycling with Lindsey Jonin – creatively enhancing books that would be otherwise discarded

·Tuesday, November 24 @ 2 p.m. – Zoophoria: Animal Art - Rock Mosaics – complete a craft with a real toad and a baby alligator

·Wednesday, December 9 @ 6:30 p.m. – Draw and Discover – charcoal for the non-artist with Jenny Santa Maria

These programs are generously sponsored by the Jackson Friends of the Library. The Friends are volunteers who help preserve, strengthen, and support the library through supporting branch activities, sponsoring fundraisers, and attending community and civic events as library advocates.
