• Two Toms River Gas Stations, One Lakehurst Station Settle Deceptive Pricing Case for $17,500 (shorenewsnetwork.com) — If you buy gas on Route 37 in Toms River, county officials just forced the owner of two local stations and one in Lakehurst to pay $17,500 over deceptive pump pricing and weights-and-measures violations. Investigators say some posted prices didn't match what drivers were charged, and the owner must now fix equipment, use certified repair vendors, and prove ongoing compliance with consumer protection rules.
• Hardie scores twice as Toms River South field hockey deals Brick Township its first loss (nj.com subscription) — Toms River South's field hockey team just handed previously undefeated Brick Township its first loss of the season with a 6-3 win on the road. Alexa Hardie scored twice as South poured in all six of its goals before halftime, with strong contributions from several teammates and nine saves from goalkeeper Fiona Hannaford to secure the statement victory.
