Boating in Toms River Today or Tomorrow? Be Safe

NJ State Police Marine units and the U.S. Coast Guard will be patrolling waterways today and tomorrow

Planning to take the boat out today or tomorrow for some quality time on the water? The New Jersey State Police and the U.S. Coast Guard are reminding boaters to be safe -- particularly when it comes to drinking on the boat.

Operating a boat while intoxicated is subject to the same penalties as driving while intoxicated, including loss of driver’s license.

In addition, boaters are required to have safety gear on board, as specified in the checklist provided by the NJ State Police.
