Bret Michaels Playing In Seaside Heights Friday

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ -- The summer weather is arriving and bringing with it a performance that will heat up the unofficial start to summer at the Jersey Shore: Bret Michaels is scheduled to perform on the boardwalk on Friday morning.

Michaels, formerly of the band Poison, will be taking part in the 2016 Summer Blast Off event sponsored by WCBS-FM's morning drive show, "Shannon in the Morning" with Scott Shannon.

The Summer Blast Off runs from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. on the boardwalk in front of the Spicy Cantina, between Sumner and Webster avenues. Michaels will be performing his Poison hits; the event also will include a performance by the Springsteen tribute band The E Street Shuffle.
