Brush, Leaf Collection Dates For 2019 In Toms River
If you're doing yardwork this weekend, take note of the dates for leaf pickup for 2019.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The leaves may have barely started to fall, but Toms River has announced its schedule for 2019 leaf and brush collections.
If you have brush you want the township to pick up, those curbside collections will begin Oct. 7.
The shrubs, tree trimmings and branches put out for collection must be less than 4 inches in diameter; all material must be in lengths of 4 feet or less and weigh less than 50 pounds. Do not bag or tie the trimmings. If they are extremely small, put them in untied bags or a 35-gallon garbage can. Put material to be picked up at the curb before 6:30 a.m. on Oct. 7. Collections will end on Oct. 18.

The public works department notice said they sometimes are ahead of schedule.
"You may put your bagged leaves to the curb before your scheduled week begins," the notice said. "However, we will still be collecting your area again during your scheduled collection weeks."
Leaves are not permitted in landfill. If you miss the curbside collection, bagged or loose leaves must be brought to the Recycling Convenience Center. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Branches and brush can be dropped off there as well. The Recycling Convenience Center is at 1672 Church Road; the entrance is a quarter-mile east of North Bay Avenue.
There is free leaf mulch and wood chips available at the recycling center. You can pick up or arrange for a delivery of either material in quantities of 10 cubic yards or 20 cubic yards by calling 732-255-1000, ext. 8108.
