Mathis House a Victorian Bed & Breakfast and Tea Room

In honor of our Nurses for "Nurse Appreciation Week", the Mathis House will offer the Victorian Afternoon Teatime at the special price of $25 a person (plus tax and gratuity).
The meal is a two-hour experience that includes soup, salad, a warm scone with clotted cream, a variety of tea sandwiches, and a plate of desserts, with a full pot of tea per person. The price for the Victorian Afternoon Tea is typically $50 per person and is on sale for all Nurses at half price. The dates are May 6th to May 8th, with seating times from 11 AM to 4 PM on the hour.
To make your reservation, please call 732-818-7580. Group seating and private rooms are available. Dietary restrictions such as gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan may be prepared with advance notice. Gift cards for Nurse Appreciation Week may be purchased by visiting the Mathis House at 600 Main Street and making your purchase in person.

My new class is starting, and I will continue to set up a still-life, and instruct students with their own projects, but . . .Ever get frustrated with a watercolor you just can’t get right?&nbsp; Been there, done that.&nbsp; Some time ago I did a portrait of a niece in watercolor.&nbsp; Loved the tilt of her head and the flowers in her hair (she was a bridesmaid I think); but at that time I could not achieve the softness of her face in paint.&nbsp; So, I went over the entire work with pastels, which are soft and blend beautifully.&nbsp; Join me in class, beginning April 1, 3:30 – 5:30, for 8 weeks.&nbsp; $160 members, $200 for non-members.&nbsp; I will supply the pastels.&nbsp; Doesn’t have to be a portrait that you want to enhance, could be landscape, still-life or abstract.&nbsp; So much fun to get messy with your materials.

Join the Mathis House at 600 Main Street to experience a five-course Victorian Afternoon Tea with gourmet tea, warm scones, seasonal soup, a mixed green salad, a variety of tea sandwiches, and a plate of desserts. The mansion will be filled with live piano music, and self-guided tours are available with every visit. The seating times are 11 AM and 3:00 PM every weekend in May.
The cost is $50 per person, $20 for children 12 and under, and children five and under are free with an adult. Seniors and military are $10 off mid-week. Mid-week seating times begin at 11 AM and are held every hour on the hour until 4 PM.
