With great enthusiasm, we invite you to join us on the Asbury Park Boardwalk for our 6^thannual Walk In Their Shoes, on Sunday, November 8th,from 9amto 11am.Wewalk to support the residents, clientsandthe programs of Ocean’s Harbor House and bring awareness and honor the lives represented in November - National Youth HomelessnessAwareness Month.

When people hear "homeless youth," they sometimes picture a young person literally sleeping on the street. And yes, that happens. But youth homelessness can also look like sleeping on someone's couch, moving from house to house, staying somewhere unsafe because there is nowhere else to go, or turning 18 and suddenly realizing there is no stable adult or home to fall back on. At Ocean’s Harbor House, our goal isn't simply to give a young person somewhere to stay. We help them build a life they can sustain after they leave us.

Here, our programs help young people find a pathway toward stability and independence. But young people shouldn't have to navigate that pathway alone. Our job is to provide structure, support, accountability, and opportunity. The SHORE House, our Supervised Transitional Living Program, provides housing and support for young people ages 16–21 with services extending into young adulthood through our Aftercare Programs. Through our Life-Skills Development Initiative, we teach practical skills young adults actually need in financial, housing and leasing literacy, employment and professionalism, communication and self-advocacy, health and wellness support. Our Day Services and Harbor Hub provide a central location for young people seeking these supports, along with guidance and a welcoming space to connect. Our Harbor COMPASS Street Outreach meets our young people in need where they are in the community and in their lives, connecting them to immediate safety and essential services. Your support is an essential part of how that happens.
