'Catastrophic' Air Conditioning Failure Shuts Ocean County Library

The closure is expected to last for multiple days, officials said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The main branch of the Ocean County Library in Toms River is temporarily closed after what library officials said was a "catastrophic failure" of its HVAC system.

Repairs to the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system are anticipated to take until Tuesday to complete, and the library is anticipated to reopen the main branch on Wednesday, officials said.

"In the event of a delay in reopening the building, there will be updates available on our website and via social media," library officials said.

Library materials that are being held for customers will be held through Monday, July 17.

Books can be returned to the Toms River book drop or any other library branch throughout Ocean County.
