COLLEGE SOCCER: Toms River's Dell'Acqua, Troutman Earn Conference Honors In Soccer

The two had successful freshman seasons, Dell'Acqua at Charleston Southern and Troutman at Auburn.

TOMS RIVER, NJ -- Two Toms River 2015 graduates have earned postseason honors in their freshman collegiate soccer seasons.

Alyssa Dell’Acqua, a goalkeeper who graduated from Toms River North, and Taylor Troutman, a forward from Toms River South, both were named to the All-Freshmen teams of their respective conferences for the 2015 season.

Troutman, who plays at Auburn, was named to the Southeastern Conference’s All-Freshmen team. She had four goals and three assists for the Tigers, who reached the NCAA Tournament’s Sweet Sixteen before falling to finalist Florida State.

Troutman was named SEC Soccer Freshman of the Week on Oct. 5 for her game-winning goal in double overtime that gave Auburn the 2-1 victory over archrival Alabama.

Dell’Acqua, meanwhile, was named to the Big South All-Freshmen Team for her work in the net for Charleston Southern. She finished the season with 77 saves and three shutouts, including 11 saves in a 2-0 shutout over Radford and 10 saves in a 1-0 victory over Gardner-Webb.

Dell’Acqua was the Big South Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 5 for her 15-save performance against Liberty.
