Police say they can't find 73 sex offenders from 42 towns spread across New Jersey. Have you seen them? (See the N.J. State Police list below).

The online registry contains more than 4,300 sex offenders, but it also includes 73 non-compliant offenders who failed to fulfill registration requirements under Megan's Law by not checking in with police on a regular schedule to confirm their presence.

Police say the registry is not a complete and comprehensive listing of every person who has ever committed any sex offense in New Jersey, nor does it make information about every sex offender living in New Jersey available on the internet.

But it does provide, with the listed offenders, their last known addresses, photos and their charges.

Offenders who have been found to be repetitive and compulsive must verify their address with the appropriate law enforcement agency every 90 days. All other offenders must verify their address annually, according to state law.
