Couple Searches For Engagement Ring Left At Toms River Gym
It was a momentary lapse but a newly engaged couple are now hoping someone will do the right thing and return her ring.
TOMS RIVER, NJ — A Toms River man and his fiancée are hoping someone will do the right the thing and return the engagement ring she accidentally left on the sink in a restroom at a Toms River fitness center.
Eric Thiel shared his plea on Facebook Saturday after the diamond engagement ring disappeared from the women's locker room at Planet Fitness on Fischer Boulevard.
"Please, we just got engaged on Christmas Eve," Thiel said in his Facebook post. "It would mean the world to us to get it back. No questions asked."

His fiancée, Michelle Moore, had taken the ring off to wash her hands on Jan. 3, but when she was finished, she forgot to put the ring back on. When she realized her error, she went back to the fitness center's women's locker room to check, but the ring was long gone.
"It was an enormous mistake," Thiel said in response to questions on his Facebook post. The couple have filed a police report, searched the facility, and are checking every possible place where people can pawn jewelry to find the ring. The sink has a grate to prevent items from slipping down the drain, he said, so that seems an unlikely place.
