Crash Causes Garden State Parkway Backup Into Toms River

A crash in the southbound lanes was backing up traffic into the Toms River tolls Friday.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A crash on the southbound side of the Garden State Parkway near the Toms River Toll Plaza was causing a backup for traffic heading to the Shore on Friday, state officials said.

The crash, reported by the state DOT's traffic website 511nj.org, happened before 11:30 a.m. and was causing a backup of at least 2 miles as of 11:45 a.m., mostly due to rubbernecking.
