'Erratic Driver' Seen Before Route 70 Crash That Led To Multiple Injuries: Toms River PD

An "erratic driver" was reported moments before the crash that caused one vehicle to overturn near Massachusetts Avenue, police said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Authorities are investigating a crash on Route 70 at Massachusetts Avenue that shut down both roads in all directions just before the evening commute on Thursday,

The crash happened moments after Toms River police received a 911 call about an erratic driver on Route 70, Toms River police said.

One vehicle, a pickup truck, overturned and caught fire as a result of the crash, police said.

"There are multiple injuries reported at the scene," police said.

There are multiple police, fire, and EMS units at the scene, as well as the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, Ocean County Sheriff CSI Unit, and the NJ State Diversion Team.
