Damaged Hydrant Floods Route 9 In Toms River
The Ocean County Sheriff's Office urges motorists to avoid the area near Cox Cro Road.

TOMS RIVER, NJ -- Motorists are urged to avoid Route 9 in the area of Cox Cro Road on Saturday evening because of flooding from a fire hydrant, the Ocean County Sheriff's Office said.
The flooding from the hydrant was causing ice on the roads, the sheriff's office said.
The sheriff's office alert said the hydrant had been struck. Additional details were not available.
