Design Alternatives Among Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies in NJ
Small Toms River company provides big ideas for commercial interior design
TOMS RIVER, N.J. ─ Design Alternatives, Inc., a small women-owned commercial interior design firm, specializing in the hospitality and health care markets, has been ranked among the 50 Fastest Growing Companies in New Jersey for 2017, as awarded by NJBIZ.
“We’re thrilled to have been selected. It’s quite an accomplishment to be in the company of some of the largest corporations in the state and only three in Ocean County,” said Design Alternatives President Carrie Fusella, who founded the company in her basement in 1990, and has since grown out of two offices and has plans of moving into a larger facility in 2018.
The goal of NJBIZ Fastest 50 is to recognize outstanding corporations that are supporting and enhancing the NJ economy with a strong growing business. This award was based on growth and revenue over a three-year period. Out of the companies selected, Design Alternatives had the fewest employees, while maintaining explosive growth, to compete with companies with over 16,000 employees.

“We have a relatively small staff of 11, which includes our design and installation team, our people work hard which is evident in the company’s growth,” said Ms. Fusella.
“These fast-growing businesses reflect a diverse and flourishing Garden State economy, spanning industries ranging from health care, real estate and manufacturing to information technology, marketing and banking," said NJBIZ Editor Karren Johnson. “Although companies differ in industry, products, size and years in business, when it comes to achieving sustained growth they all agree on the importance of investing in employees, focusing on customers’ needs, adapting to industry trends and shooting for the stars.”
