Emergency Roadwork Scheduled For Route 35 In Ortley Beach

The road will be partially closed, with one lane maintained for travel, authorities said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Route 35 northbound will be partially closed Friday in Ortley Beach for emergency road repairs, state officials announced.

The closure, between 7th Avenue and 6th Avenue northbound, is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m., the New Jersey Department of Transportation said.

The two travel lanes and right shoulder will be closed, and traffic will be shifted to the left shoulder for emergency repairs to a dip in the roadway.

The work is expected to be completed late Friday afternoon or early evening.

Motorists should expect delays and are advised to slow down and use caution when driving through the work zone, the NJDOT said.
