Spring Victorian Afternoon Tea at the Mathis House

Mathis House Victorian Tea Room and Bed & Breakfast

May is the month for "Mom's" at the Mathis House Tearoom. The Mother's Day Victorian Afternoon Tea is available daily from Tuesday to Sunday. Mid-week seating starts at 11 AM, and teatimes are held by reservation every hour on the hour, with the last seating at 3 PM. Weekend seating times are 11 AM and 3 PM. The Victorian Afternoon Tea includes a choice of soup, a seasonal salad, a warm scone with clotted cream, lemon curd, and preserves, a variety of five tea sandwiches, and a plate of petite desserts with a pot of gourmet tea per person. The cost is $50 (plus tax and gratuity) for adults, $20 for children 12 years old and under, and free for children 5 and under with an adult. The mid-week cost is $40 per person (plus tax and gratuity). Seniors and the military receive a 10% discount. Join the Mathis House for a night of delicious food and Mom's being pampered with a buffet dinner to include the following:
Roasted rosemary bone in chicken with a light brown gravy. Brown rice pilaf. Brussels Sprouts with craisins, honey, and walnuts. Mixed green salad with strawberries, blueberries, feta cheese, and a raspberry vinaigrette. A beautiful charcuterie board with meats, cheeses, nuts, crackers, and more. A dessert buffet and a tea bar buffet, coffee, and Cream Ridge. Wine selections to purchase for the evening. Warm dinner rolls with a homemade honey butter.
The evening will include live piano music by our Manager, Evan Mills, who will play old-time favorites to sing along and listen to for the evening.

Prepare to step back in time as the Cape May Renaissance Faire announces its grand opening, and transforms the Cape May County 4-H Fairgrounds into a bustling festival, May 2 &amp; 3, 2026. The new event promises immersive and whimsical fun, fantasy, music, crafts, food and drink; providing a unique escape for families and the young at heart.&nbsp;

The Cape May Renaissance Faire aims to bring the rich traditions of medieval-era entertainment to the local community, blending historical flair with fantastical fun.
