Expect Water Service Disruption On Several Streets In Toms River

United Water Toms River is shutting off water service temporarily to some homes on Westminster Drive, Stafford Drive and Ambassador Drive in Toms River as part of a water main replacement project.

The service has been shut off since 9 a.m. and will resume around 2 p.m., according to a United Water press release posted on the Toms River Township website.

United Water recommends that customers fill containers with water for drinking and cooking, and fill bathtubs with water for cleaning and flushing toilets.

Residents may experience temporary discolored water which contains “harmless minerals” when service resumes. United Water recommends running the cold tap for five minutes, or until the water runs clear.
