Fire Damages Construction Equipment At BASF Site In Toms River
The fire was the result of mechanical failure, Toms River fire officials said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A fire that damaged construction equipment at the BASF property on Friday was the result of a mechanical failure, Toms River officials said.
The fire, which destroyed a skid steer, was more than a half-mile off the property's paved road and firefighters from Toms River Fire Companies 1 and 2 used fire access roads to reach the fire, Chief Inspector Matthew Janora said. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service also responded.
Janora said the circumstances surrounding the cause of the fire do not appear to be suspicious. The preliminary investigation indicates the fire was caused by a mechanical failure.
