The fireworks display is sponsored by Jesse Sipe, owner of Sipe Adjustment Group, and was announced after Murphy said the number of people at a public gathering could increase to 500. Sipe Adjustment Group has partnered with WRAT 95.9 FM for the audio choreographed display.

The traditional Beachwood Fireworks Over the Toms River was postponed to Labor Day over concerns about crowd limits amid the pandemic.

Toms River police said the beach and the bathrooms at Shelter Cove will close at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday and the parking lot closest to the beach will be emptied. For the fireworks, parking will be permitted in the far lot, but there will be no parking on the grass.

For boaters, a safety zone will be designated in the water and will be patrolled by police and fire personnel.

Because Shelter Cove Park will likely fill up quickly, police and Sipe have suggested other spots where the view should be good:

  • Silver Bay waterfront in Toms River
  • Chadwick Beach
  • Lavallette, Ortley Beach & Seaside Heights bay fronts
  • Ocean Beach 1, 2, & 3
  • Normandy Beach

The Lakewood BlueClaws' fireworks display was postponed to Sunday due to the threat of thunderstorms Friday night. The event at FirstEnergy Park, New Hampshire and Cedar Bridge avenues in Lakewood, is sold out, however you may be able to see at least part of the display from some of the parking lots at businesses near the stadium.

Due to the pandemic, counties or cities may adjust or cancel events at the last minute. Check your event before you go. Know of other events in the area? Post them on the Patch calendar or share details on our free Neighbor Post feature.
