Flood Advisory In Effect In Ocean County
Heavy rain falling across the region may result in flooding in areas with poor drainage; authorities are urging caution while driving.

Heavy rain falling across southern New Jersey has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a flood advisory for several areas including Ocean County.
Forecasters said rain has been falling at the rate of a third to two-thirds of an inch per hour, causing minor flooding especially in areas where there is poor drainage and the potential for small streams to rise rapidly, they said.
By 8 a.m. nearly 2 inches of rain had fallen in some spots, and total rainfall was expected to be 3 to 3.5 inches, forecasters said.
