Asante Moorer and Mike Husni account for five touchdowns in the victory

Toms River North had a rough outing a week ago, when the Mariners got beat up by Jackson Memorial.
But the Mariners shook it off and hit on all cylinders Friday night, beating crosstown rival Toms River East 47-22 in a Shore Conference Class A South football game, according to APP.com.
Toms River North (4-2, 3-2) got three touchdowns from Asante Moorer and three rushing touchdowns from quarterback Mike Husni in the win.

Toms River East (0-6, 0-5), which has faced a rough schedule from the start this year, scored first when Nick Grande stripped the ball from a Mariners’ running back and ran 40 yards for the touchdown. Hunter Gibbons added a field goal to give the Raiders a 9-0 lead after they forced two Mariners’ punts.
Moorer’s first touchdown, a run from 40 yards out, made it 9-6, and then he caught a 20-yard pass from Husni to make it 12-9. And the Mariners never looked back.

Toms River East quarterback Jason Venezia connected with Tommy Ferrante for a pair of touchdowns.
The Raiders host Freehold Boro next Saturday at 1 p.m. The Mariners travel to Southern for a 1 p.m. game on Saturday.
