Frigid Temperatures, Icy Roads: Point Pleasant Schools Close Again

The district announced a makeup day as a result of the closure.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — Students and staff members in the Point Pleasant Borough Schools are getting another snow day on Tuesday as Ocean County continues to dig out after Sunday's storm.

"Due to hazardous road and bus stop conditions, all schools and offices will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27, 2026," the district said.

The day will be made up on Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, which originally had been scheduled as a day off for Presidents Weekend.

The area is under a cold weather advisory until 10 a.m. Wednesday, with wind chills as low as 7 degrees below zero expected, the National Weather Service said. Wind chills that low can cause hypothermia if precautions are not taken, officials said.

Daytime temperatures are not expected to get above freezing all week, according to the forecast.
