TOMS RIVER, NJ — Funeral services have been set for a pair of friends who died early Sunday in a crash that has stunned people far and wide.

Braden De Martin, 22, and Daniel V. Foley, 23, will be laid to rest this weekend, even as the investigation into Sunday's accident continues. The two died when De Martin's Porsche went airborne, flipped over and crashed into the second story of a business on Hooper Avenue, just north of Indian Hill Road.

In obituaries published by the two funeral homes, the Toms River East graduates are remembered by family for their willingness to help others. De Martin, whose funeral is being handled by Kedz Funeral Home, had achieved the rank of Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troop 165 in Toms River. Foley, whose funeral is being handled by Timothy E. Ryan Home For Funerals, was described as kind and compassionate, always willing "to lend a helping hand," qualities he learned from his father and his family.

A friend of the two young men set up a GoFundme campaign in an effort to show support for the families. If you would like to donate, information is here.

May they rest in peace. We at Patch send our deepest condolences to the families.
