Go Dashing Through Toms River In Jingle Bells 5K

The Toms River Police Department event raises money for scholarships.

Take a break from dashing through the mall this Sunday to dash through the streets of Toms River in the 17th annual Jingle Bells 5K Run and Kiddie Dash, hosted by the Toms River Township Police Department.

The proceeds from the event go to scholarships to local high school students; one scholarship to a student planning to study law enforcement will be awarded in memory of Detective Mark Catalano of the Toms River Police Department.

Additionally, the event website says, a donation will go to the Chariot Riders program, which assists with the recovery of disabled veterans. That donation will be in memory of Marita Williamson, the website says.
