The borough is auctioning off the lot and accepting bids until Monday morning.

SEASIDE PARK, NJ — Have a spare $650,000 lying around? Seaside Park has a residential lot for sale.
Seaside Park is auctioning off the lot at 66 I St. via sealed bids, which must be submitted by 10 a.m. Monday, July 10 in the borough clerk's office, 1701 N. Ocean Ave., borough officials said.
The borough has been advertising the sale through newspaper legal ads but posted information to Facebook on Wednesday to spark more interest.

The property, just east of Route 35, is zoned for single-family residential housing and is a 50-foot by 130-foot lot, officials said.
The auction is the latest step in trying to transform what had been a decrepit rental property in the borough. ShoreBeat reported the Borough Council purchased the property in 2022, after declaring it an area in need of redevelopment.

It had a multi-family apartment building on the property, but the property was in severe disrepair, with holes in the roof and other safety issues, which led the borough to condemn it, the report said. The borough demolished the structure earlier this year, leaving only the lot.
Seaside Park purchased the property for $815,000, according to real estate records online.
The sealed bids submitted by 10 a.m. Monday will be opened and read right after the deadline, and the winner must provide a certified check for 10 percent of their winning bid.
