Fire Disrupts Hooper Avenue Traffic In Toms River: Sheriff

Firefighters were battling a blaze in a building on the property at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, witnesses told Patch.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A fire in a building on the property of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Toms River was causing traffic delays on Hooper Avenue Tuesday afternoon.

The Ocean County Sheriff's Office issued an alert warning about the delays about 1:10 p.m., saying traffic was disrupted in both directions along the stretch from College Drive through Indian Hill Road.

Witnesses told Patch the fire is in a building at the rear of the property, and not the church itself.
