Hope Sheds Light Starting Support Group; Meeting Tuesday
The group is open to family members, friends and those fighting to break grip of addiction, whether drugs, alcohol or something else.

A new support group for those affected by addiction -- whether they are friends or family of someone who's an addict, or someone trying to break free of its grip -- is forming in Ocean County.
The Finding Hope for Life support group, created by the Hope Sheds Light organization, will meet on the last Tuesday of every month at Holy Cross Church, 1500 Hooper Ave., Toms River. The aim is to provide help and support to those who are faced with addiction issues.
The first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 31, at 7 p.m.

The meetings will highlight various recovery coaches and guest speakers. The discussion is followed by a group session facilitated by individuals who "have a strong recovery base."
"Following the overall mission of HOPE Sheds Light, this meeting is intended to provide education on the disease of addiction and hope to support a healthier community," the organization said in an announcement of the meetings. "Together we will help you find the courage to change the way you look and feel about addition and offer tools to aid in your recovery."
