Hudson City Savings Name Changes Completed
The Toms River branch is one of several around New Jersey that have been converted to M and T Bank branches after 2015 acquisition.
TOMS RIVER, NJ -- Employees and customers watched Saturday as the former Hudson City Savings Bank branch on Hooper Avenue formally gained its new name: M&T Bank.
The new signs were the finishing touches on M&T Bank’s acquisition of Hudson City Savings from late 2015, the bank announced. The acquistion, which was first announced in 2012 and finally completed in November, included 97 Hudson City branches in New Jersey and 121 ATMs.
“M&T now has a total of 177 branches with more than $24 billion of bank deposits and 1,965 employees within the New Jersey-New York City-Connecticut area,” the company announced.
